MUNICIPAL NOTICE: PREFERENTIAL PROCUREMENT POLICY FRAMEWORK ACT

Dear residents of Cederberg Municipality

Cederberg Municipality adopted the new Preferential Procurement Policy in December 2022 and will be implemented in 2023.

Changes to the policy are as follows:

• Local content requirements has been removed;
• Sub-contracting on this policy has been removed, but is still applicable as required by CIDB
• Points system will be applicable for formal written price quotations and tenders – with a transaction value above R30 000:
• 10 Points will be allocated for businesses operating within the jurisdiction of Cederberg Municipality;
• The BBBEE points are still applicable. For example, if your company is a BBBEE level 1 contributor, you will earn 10 points.
